SIJAN, the feature-length film tells the unbelievable but true story of Captain Lance P. Sijan, Milwaukeean, Air Force pilot and Medal of Honor recipient. At the age of 25, Sijan ejected from a disabled aircraft over Laos during the Vietnam War on Nov. 9, 1967. Severely injured, Sijan survived without food or water for 45 days in the jungle until he was eventually captured.
Sijan’s story of resilience, valor and love is told by his sister Janine Sijan Rozina, who co-wrote/directed/produced the film. After the film, Janine Sijan Rozina will speak about the film and her brother’s legacy.
This exclusive screening is the public’s first chance to see the film since it premiered at the Milwaukee Film Festival last fall. The War Memorial Center screening is sponsored by Gibbs Building Maintenance.
