New location for F4C Phantom Jet Dedicated to Capt. Lance Sijan

  • November 2, 2015
Milwaukee County Executive’s Office and Mitchell International Airport have approved a new location for the F4C Phantom Jet dedicated to Capt. Lance Sijan.  It currently sits on the south end of the airport on College Ave where the 440th Air Force Reserve once occupied space.
Since the 440th Airlift Wing relocated to North Carolina in 2007, Captain Sijan’s aircraft was no longer part of a military operation.  The once proud and powerful tribute to Lance surrounded by the Air Force’s KC-135’s is now lost in a business park.
Through years of lobbying, it has come to pass that Lance’s aircraft be moved to a more visible location in front of Mitchell International Airport on the inner drive. The cost of the move and all site needs associated with the new installation must be privately funded.  We invite you to engage in this effort to complete this move by spring of 2016.  Please see the link provided on this website to support this effort.  Express to all who live in Milwaukee and visitors coming into our city that we are indeed proud of the values and principles that Lance personified.
